Labor Secretary Marianito D. Roque on Tuesday said the Philippine government will repatriate 70 Filipinos from Haiti, which was devastated by earthquake, in two batches this week.
The first batch of 16, Roque said, will arrive at 5 am, Friday, January 29, on board Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight 103.
The second group of 54 is coming home via PAL 103 on Saturday, 5 am, January 30.
The repatriation costs, Roque said, were advanced by the OWWA.
The repatriation is a joint effort of the Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The names of the arriving Filipinos will be announced as soon as they become available. Their relatives here will also be contacted about their arrival schedules.
